Town Elections: Saturday, May 7, 2022

The polls will open at approximately 10:00 AM after article 1 has been voted in by those present at the Annual Town Meeting. Polls close at 4 pm. Ashfield has one polling location, in the Lower Hall of Ashfield’s Town Hall, at 412 Main Street.

Because the state legislature did NOT pass an extension to the temporary laws that allowed "no-excuse" voting by mail and early-in-person voting in 2020 and 2021, traditional absentee ballots are the only option for those who cannot come to the polls on Election Day.

To qualify for an absentee ballot, you must be a registered voter who will be unable to vote at the polls on Election Day due to absence from Ashfield, or due to disability or religious beliefs. If this applies to you, please request your absentee ballot early and leave plenty of time for mailing or come in person.

  • DEADLINE to apply for a mailed absentee ballot: Tuesday, May 3 by 5:00 pm.
  • DEADLINE to vote absentee in person: Friday, May 6 by 12:00 NOON.
  • EMERGENCY BALLOTS are available for people admitted to a healthcare facility or instructed to self-quarantine within 7 days of the election.
  • ALL BALLOTS need to be received by the Town Clerk’s office before close of polls on Election Day.
