Eversource Transmission Maintenance

Eversource’s Transmission Maintenance Department will be replacing select wood pole structures with new, more durable steel structures, as well as installing lightening protection hardware on some existing transmission structures.  The work will take place between the Berkshire Substation in Hinsdale and the Cumberland Substation in Greenfield, passing through the Ashfield.

In Ashfield they will be installing lightening protection hardware on structures within Eversource’s existing right of way that crosses Bug Hill Road, Bear Swamp Road, Smith Road, Baptist Corner Road, Bellus Road, Beldingville Road, and Phersick Road.

The work is planned to begin work in June with Project completion and restoration of disturbed areas occurring in the Fall of 2020. The hours of construction will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Prior to work beginning, the Eversource Team will be reaching out to nearby property owners, providing them with a 1-800 number and an email address should they have questions or would like additional information. They will also be mailing the letter below to all property owners who abut the right of way:
