Cell Tower Application


NEW: At the Planning Board's April 7 meeting, the Special Permit was granted with conditions, contingent upon review by Town Counsel. DRAFT minutes from April 7 are available here including a list of the conditions. A final decision is expected at the April 21 meeting.

The Ashfield Planning Board has received an application to build a wireless facility (cell tower) at 2003 Conway Road, Ashfield. The Applicant is New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC d/b/a AT&T Mobility. 


A hearing for this proposal was opened via Zoom/phone at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. The official hearing notice is here. The hearing was continued to January 20; February 10; February 17; and March 3.

On March 3 the hearing was closed. The "shot clock" was extended to April 30 by agreement between the applicant and Planning Board.

The Planning Board meets the first and third Wednesday of every month, and additionally as needed.

A "balloon demonstration" was conducted the first two weeks in November in order to provide town residents a meaningful opportunity to assess potential visual impacts of the proposal.
